Posted on July 11th, 2010

We will be having our annual pool party on August 14th from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Each year this is where we try to earn our swimming belt loop, and for WEBELOS, the aquanaut pin. We also have a pizza lunch while we are there. It is a lot of fun. We hope to see you there.

Haven Horse Ranch Birdies for Charity Event

Posted on April 24th, 2010

“Our BSA Cub Pack #329 is helping raise money for a deserving charity, Haven Horse Ranch through “Birdies for Charity”, but unlike most pledge or gifting opportunities, there is also a chance to win a 4 night trip to NYC for two!

For an easy way to make your Birdies for Charity pledge to benefit Haven Horse Ranch, so here is the link for the electronic pledge option – just scroll down to the bottom of the page:  http://www.havenhorseranch.org/supportthekids/birdiesforcharity.html   In the “How did you hear about B4C” dropdown, please be sure to indicate Pack 329 as we are trying to win riding time for our Pack while helping the ranch.  As a pledge maker you can select to pledge a flat donation of $25 or you can elect an amount for each birdie made (usually in fractions of a cent because the birdies in the past have ranged from 1200 – 1500).  If you make a pledge of $25 or more you can guess at the number of Birdies at this year’s TPC and could win the Grand Prize – a Trip to New York with airfare and hotel for 4 nights AND tickets to the Barclays, the 2nd Prize is a John Deere LA115 42” Riding Mower, or 3rd Prize is a Dinner for 4 at Traditions in Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra.

Some have also asked to hear more about what Haven Horse Ranch (HHR) actually does, so here goes. . . HHR uses primarily rescued horses in their various programs helping Autistic clients, others with physical disabilities as well as at-risk children.  I encourage you to check out the website www.havenhorseranch.org.  Some of the stories will bring tears of joy to your face, this really is a great organization.

Please forward this to all your friends that might enjoy a chance to win a wonderful trip to NYC (shopping, theater and golf!). . . and help our Pack earn riding time!

Pack 329 Cake Auction

Posted on April 24th, 2010

At the pack meeting on April 29 we will be conducting a cake auction to raise money for the Pack as the final fund raising effort of the year.  These funds will take us into next year with adequate funds to hold the summer pool party and purchase the final awards of the year.

Each boy is asked to bake a cake with the assistance of an adult partner.  Please have the boys do as much of the actual baking process themselves as is age appropriate.  (Webelos boys should be able to make the cake entirely on their own).  Please bring the cakes in or on a dish that you DO NOT need back!  (Cardboard covered in foil or a foil baking pan for example).  Each cake should be decorated with a Sports Theme.  Use your imagination!  Think football, soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball…. You decide!  However, we DO NOT want these to be professionally decorated cakes: have the boys do the planning and decorating as much as they are able!  Cakes that are professionally decorated will be disqualified.  (Moms, let your boys show you what they can do!)  The boys will receive a baking badge for their efforts.

At the Pack Meeting, please bring your cakes to the back of the room.  Each boy will bring his own cake to the front to “sell” us why we should buy his cake (public speaking development opportunity)!  Cakes will be auctioned in a live auction with a starting bid of $10.  You will need to pay, even if you buy your own cake back.  Remember, this is a fund raiser for the pack.

Feel free to invite grandparents, friends, scout supporters, etc.  The more guests we have the more money we can raise!

Blue and Gold Details

Posted on January 25th, 2010

Date- Saturday, February 20th.

Time : 3 pm - 5:30. Will start promptly at 3pm. You may arrive at 2:30 the earliest

Location- Armory off 207 - By Otis Mason Elementary

Catered dinner is provided.

Blue and Gold is the Pack’s biggest event of the year. This is where your boy(s) will receive his rank badge that he has been working on all year. This is a celebration for the Scouts, to honor the Scouts.

Dinner will be pork, chicken, garlic potatoes, Mac-n-cheese, green beans and of course CAKE..

There is a small cost for this event. Tickets will be sold until February 11th. There is limited space for this event, so please buy your tickets as soon as possible. See the details below:

Here is how it works

For $5.00, the Scout receives 4 tickets. That is good for 4 members including the Scout (The Scout plus 3 family members). Each additional family member or guest is $5.00 for 1 ticket for 1 entry.

Any tickets not used will not be reimbursed since the cost is to secure a spot that someone else will not be able to purchase, and any guests arriving without a ticket will not be permitted to enter the event (KEEP YOUR TICKETS SAFE!). Not to sound tough by any means, but the amount of attendees and keeping track of is paramount for numerous reasons.

We will be decorating the Armory on Friday the 19th from 12-4, so if anyone would like to help it WOULD BE GREATLY Appreciated. Please contact Trish if you would like to volunteer.

We will also have a fabulous photographer there to take pictures of your Scout(s). The details will be sent out to you all very soon.

We are sorry for any inconvenience for the date change. There is a great deal of effort that goes into planning this event for almost 300 people and changes had to be made due to location limitations. Of course, we always have openings on our Pack Committee if you would be interested in being a part of the planning process. The positions allow you to have a vote, and to offer suggestions to make our Pack even better.
