Basic Camp Gear Leaders of Pack 329 will share cooking facilities and support novice campers in every way possible. However, it is advisable to start with the following basic essentials. Good places to shop are Walmart, Target, Colemans and Sports Authority. Scouts get 20% discount at Colemans. Tent. You must have a tent, of course. For one adult and one child a two man tent should suffice, as the primary use of the tent is to sleep. There are many tents on the market. You may decide to buy a bigger tent for the whole family. Prices range from $30-$200. Mattress. For comfort a mattress is recommended. Inflatable mattresses are excellent for cub scout camping. Cooler. Fill with ice, bottled water, food etc. Essential for cold drinks on hot days. Ground Sheet. Not essential, but certainly recommended. Sometimes called a tarp, it offers extra waterproofing under your tent from morning dew and rain. The tarp should not be larger than the base of your tent, to avoid water collecting between tent and tarp. Camping chairs. Great for sitting around the camp fire. The ones with arms and cup holders are best. Bug repellent. Need I say more? More Camping Gear Oh yes, there is always more you can camp with. Once you decide camping is for you the following will become must haves... Camp stove. Some are very slim with two burners for about $40. Excellent. Fold Up Table. To support the stove and other stuff.

CCamping Rules Cub scouts are insured by the Boy Scouts of America as long as certain guidelines are followed. A useful link is http://www.scouting.org/pubs/gss/. The following are the important rules to remember when camping with Pack 329: A trained camp master must be present at each camp. Pack 329's camp masters are Paul Starr, Todd Grady, David Toth, Kim Bryner, Jim Cress and Kim Bryner. Den organized camps are not permitted except for Webelos (we must camp as a Pack). Tiger Cubs must be accompanied by at least one of their parents (or legal guardians) on overnight camps. Wolf, Bear and Webelo scouts may be accompanied by a parent (or legal guardian) approved adult. Adults shall not share tents with scouts unless they are the boy's parent (or legal guardian). Scouts are only allowed in their own tents. Playing in tents is not permitted. Alcohol is not permitted under any circumstances.
